Privacy policy

BallIQ (balliq.co) is run by ARD, an independent developer in Bangkok, who is the data controller under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA) and, where it applies, the EU GDPR. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

1. What we collect

• No account needed to read. Match analysis, results and tables work without signing in.
• If you sign in to play the prediction game. We keep only (1) which provider you used (LINE or Google), (2) the opaque user id that provider sends us, (3) the leaderboard name you choose, and (4) your picks, points and when you made them, and (5) the groups you start or join: members of a group see each other's display name and points. If you delete your account, a group you own passes to its longest-standing member, or is deleted if nobody else is in it. We request the openid scope only, so we never receive or store your real name, email, phone number or profile picture.
• Session cookie. When you sign in we set a random biq_sid cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. We store only a hash of it.
• Connection data. Cloudflare, our host, processes your IP address, country and browser details to serve pages and block attacks. Its time-zone estimate sets kickoff times on English pages.
• Settings stored on your device. Your browser keeps your cookie choice, the team you pinned, your language, and any picks you made before signing in. They stay on your device and are not tied to your identity.
• Analytics and ads. Collected by Google Analytics and Google AdSense only if you press "Accept" (see section 3).

2. Legal basis and purpose

• Legitimate interest: to run the site securely and display it correctly (connection data and necessary settings).
• Contract (the service you asked for): account data and picks are used only to run the game, keep your points and show the leaderboard. They are not used for advertising or shared.
• Consent: for analytics (Google Analytics) and advertising (Google AdSense), which do not run at all until you agree.

3. Cookies and your choice

On your first visit we ask whether you accept cookies for analytics and ads. If you press "Decline", the Google Analytics and Google AdSense scripts are never loaded, and every part of the site still works. You can change your mind at any time in cookie settings (linked at the foot of every page).

4. Third parties

• Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, content delivery, security, and the database holding accounts and picks (Cloudflare D1).
• LY Corporation (LINE) and Google LLC: confirm who you are when you choose to sign in with them. Under their own policies they will know you signed in to BallIQ.
• Google Analytics (Google LLC): usage statistics, after consent only.
• Google AdSense (Google LLC): advertising, after consent only. Google may use cookies to show relevant ads; manage them in Google's ad settings.
• Anthropic (Claude): writes the match analysis from football statistics only. No information about visitors is sent to Anthropic.

These providers may process data outside Thailand, for example in the United States, under their own contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal data.

5. Retention

Account data, picks and points are kept until you delete your account. "Delete account" on your account page removes all of it from our database at once (a cached leaderboard may show your old name for up to 5 more minutes). Expired sessions are removed automatically. Analytics and advertising data are kept by Google for the period set in our account and under Google's policies. The settings on your device can be removed at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

6. Your rights

You may ask to access or receive a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, move it, and withdraw consent at any time (withdrawal does not affect what happened before). You can change your name or delete your account yourself on your account page, or contact privacy@balliq.co; we reply within 30 days. If you think we have not complied with the law, you may complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee, or to your local data-protection authority.

7. Children

BallIQ is not directed at anyone under 16 and does not knowingly collect children's data.
